Click here to listen to him go on all about getting things done and click here to learn how to use Todoist and Evernote (2 of the staples of my life nowadays.)
I’ve tried the ‘inbox’ thing and to be honest, it’s not all plain sailing. Yeah, it’s not that difficult to make a list of everything that needs doing but to then go through it extensively until it’s all done. That’s a different matter. It’s just that life gets in the way with its ups and downs, twists and turns, and rabbit holes that seem to go on forever.
At the moment I’m reading Atomic Habits by James Clear. Habit-forming is the thing for me and I wish I could master it and then it’s staying focused enough to keep on following them through. Again life gets in the way – but as the author says – starting with little habits is the way forward.
Update: 30th May 2020 Yup, still here, trying to carry on sticking at it and unlike last year things are actually starting to work and I’m achieving. It’s just like me to run tho (more like a mad sprint and then I flake out) and I’m pleased that today I looked back and remembered small steps.
It’s now the 22nd of September ’20 and although I’ve come along way in the respects of this system that Mr. Allen goes on about, and with the help of someone called Carl Pullien who teaches the best way to use the apps that are involved, (well, it’s just got bigger!) I still find it hard to make progress with anything in a sustained way so that I can keep things going for a long period of time.
STAMINA!
Is that what I lack? Can you have the stamina of the mind I wonder? That’s where resilience comes in me thinks, of course! The penny drops, at last, I’ll soon have enough coppers to play a game of cards if I’m lucky – remember those small steps every day Rob!
